In the early 2000’s The Balvenie distillery started experimenting to recreate a peated Balvenie whisky that had been archived back in the 1950’s. We wanted to recapture this unique spirit which brings to bear the impact of Speyside peat on the classic sweet & honeyed character of the distillery style. As a GTR exclusive launch this release hero’s our peated spirit that has been aged for 14years in the three most traditional types of cask – first-fill bourbon, refill bourbon and sherry.

A malty sweetness on the nose, gentle smoke in the background. Vanilla toffee give way to a cinnamon spiciness. To taste, smoke comes through followed up by syrupy sweetness, fresh citrus, creamy vanilla and honey, ending with a cinnamon and ginger spice. The finish is delicate smoke with a lingering and spicy sweetness.
